Parking and Street Closures

With the Classic 10K Road Race now starting early on Sunday you should plan to arrive earlier and park accordingly.

Important Street Closure and Parking Information - Sunday

5:45 am

General Public and Parking for Runners will be off Carpenter Ave. and by Alto music on the grass. Shuttle buses will be available.

~7:00 am

Police begin closing the side streets on the course.

~7:10 am

the 10K course is shut down to traffic.

The local roads around the Middletown High School will be closed off by the authorities with the entrance on Carpenter Avenue the only access route thereafter.

   

To accommodate the various departments, such as Emergency Services, our Expo Vendors, and our handicapped friends and visitors there will be no parking in the Middletown High School parking lot for the race participants. See image.

The parking for all participants will be off Carpenter Avenue across from Alto Music, just after turning onto Carpenter.

There is also a lot at the Twin Towers Middle School: from Exit 120 on Rt. 17, take Rt. 211W towards Middletown. Left at 9th traffic light onto Wisner, then 3 blocks to Irwin on the right. After parking, go back to and cross Wisner, then follow Cherry St. to the high school athletic fields.

The Classic 10K committee and would like to 'thank you in advance' for your anticipated cooperation with the new road race starting times, road closures, and the parking arrangements. It is believed these adjustments will help keep the city's local traffic running smoothly on race day and allow for a better response from our health, safety, and security departments and volunteers.
